Wat is koelvloeistof?
Koelvloeistof zorgt ervoor dat je motor koel blijft. Dit doet het samen met de radiateur. Koelvloeistof bestaat voor een groot deel uit gedemineraliseerd water met hieraan toegevoegd; additieven, antivries, antischuim, anti-corrosiemiddel en een smeermiddel. De koelvloeistof neemt de overtollige warmte van de verbrandingsmotor op zodat deze kan zijn warmte kwijt kan. Het beschermt de motor tegen roest en het dempt het geluid van de motor. Tijdens de koude winterdagen voorkomt het dat het motorblok bevriest door het antivries middel. Met behulp van de radiateur koelt de koelvloeistof weer af en wordt het opnieuw terug in de motor gepompt.

Waarom koelvloeistof vervangen?
Een koelvloeistof kan zeer lang meegaan en het is moeilijk te controleren in welke staat de koelvloeistof zich bevindt. Door een defect in het koelsysteem kan de koelvloeistof worden aangetast wat de kwaliteit van de koelvloeistof kan beïnvloeden. De koelvloeistof is voornamelijk aan vervanging toe wanneer de additieven zoals de anti-corrosie, of antivries niet meer goed werken. Dit kan ervoor zorgen dat het motorblok niet meer goed gekoeld wordt wat op den duur flinke schade kan aanrichten. Heb je twijfels over je koelvloeistof neem dan het volgende mee; de meeste koelvloeistoffen gaan ongeveer 50.000km tot 75.000km mee. Laat het anders controleren bij een garage bedrijf.
Welke koelvloeistof heb ik nodig?
